    Under limited supervision, the staff member will server as the primary IT System Management (ITSM) administrator for the agency's issue tracking system. Monitor environments and backend processes to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency and functionality. Ensure compliance with state and agency security and IT policies as procedures. Assist with customer support and improve ITSM user experience. Promote agency goals and initiatives. This position will focus on agency OIT needs with an emphasis on Public Health.
    • Install, configure, test, upgrade, and administer primary support for the agency's ITSM solution and environment for BMC Footprints. Designs and administers forms, workflows, integrations with the agency's ITSM platform including automation and/or additional self-service features and functions. Monitor systems to ensures maximum uptime for critical components and backup. Assist with new ITSM implementation. Adheres to Information Technology Security and application development standard.
    • Act as a technical consultant to customers, vendors, and other IT staff to support, research, configure, install third-party plugin, within the ITSM solutions and environments. Assist with new feature configuration, upgrades, patching, tasks, and projects as assigned. Serves as the ITSM Subject Matter export and mentor technical team on advanced topics. Promote agency initiatives.
    • Respond to customer incident and service request tickets within the IT SLA timeframe. Assist with problem resolution and tier III support. Monitor ITSM solution for incidents and potential issues. Assist other IT staff and customers to improve users experience with the ITSM solution.
    • Prepare and maintain system documentation for ITSM systems supported. To include clear/concise end-user training instructions and FAQs. Provide training to system users and customers. Provide appropriate administrative documentation and project communication.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

    This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control's Office of Information Technology. The work performed supports DHEC's mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment. Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.
