Job summary

The Anderson County Library is currently looking for Librarian I to join our Adult Services department.
The qualified individual will work with community organizations to promote library involvement and public awareness,
coordinate with branch managers to provide support for adult programs at branches,
and assist patrons in finding materials and information.
Duties include but not limited to assisting patrons by answering directional and procedural inquiries,
advising patrons concerning the library and its services resources and policies instructing in the operation of equipment answer reference requests coordinating adult programs selecting materials for the general collection tracking programs offered monitoring spending performing supervisory related duties maintaining professional development required qualifications Master s degree in library science from an ALA accredited program one year of previous library experience preferred knowledge of standard library functions practices procedures working knowledge books authors literature general computer knowledge excellent research clerical computer skills including internet experience ability establish maintain effective working relationships communicate effectively orally writing ability work team environment independent work adjust changes daily schedule handle multiple projects time exercise independent judgment valid driver license obtain one be able lift pull push up pounds.
