    Job Summary

    This candidate will be responsible for processing, planning, directing, and coordinating accounting, investing, banking, insurance, securities, and other financial activities for the company. They are responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial health and long-term growth. They contribute to and maintain the company's financial strategy for earning profits and oversee the finance and accounting operations. As a manager, they guide, monitor, and lead their group. They are also responsible for motivating others, inspiring positive communication within the company, so that the company can work towards achieving their goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and inspire a team environment with open communication.
    • Set clear team goals and hold team members accountable for them.
    • Manage and provide ongoing training to accounting and other personnel.
    • Provide ongoing training to all personnel as needed for AR and AP coordination.
    • Delegate tasks, setting deadlines for internal team members.
    • Establish procedures for custody or control of assets, records, loan collateral, or securities to ensure safekeeping.
    • Oversee the flow of cash or financial instruments and reconcile monthly statements.
    • Develop or analyze information to assess the current or future financial status of the company.
    • Prepare financial statements and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, or owners of the company.
    • Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting or collection procedures, or investment activities and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, or other financial control functions.
    • Prepare operational or risk reports for owner or management analysis.
    • Oversee audit and internal control practices.
    • Analyze and classify risks and investments to determine their potential impacts on the company.
    • Bid, purchase, and maintain liability and property insurance.
    • Work with companies' CPA firm to produce tax and other required documents.
    • Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.

    Qualifications

    • The right candidate will have at least 7 years of applicable experience as a leader within a finance department.
    • Bachelors in finance, accounting, or related discipline preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Proficient with accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
