Lauderdale, Orlando, or Tampa location.This position requires an individual with strong accounting expertise, efficient team management, and communication skills who can create effective tax plans and collaborate with the accounting and senior leadership teams to identify areas for improvement and potential risks.
Candidates must feel comfortable overseeing accurate preparation of tax forms and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws. This role also involves optimizing reporting procedures and ensuring efficient team operations to achieve compliance objectives.The right candidate will have 5+ years of experience in public accounting.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take their accounting career to the next level and grow within an established firm.
Job Highlights:
Qualifications (Required):Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldLicensed CPA in state of practice, or, if not CPA eligible, Enrolled Agent5+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting5+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, tax research, and analysis
Qualifications (Preferred):Excellent interpersonal communication (both verbal and written) with clients and team membersStrong leadership qualities to effectively manage a team of tax professionalsMotivation to perform well independentlyAnalytical skills to interpret financial data, identify tax planning opportunities, and assess tax risksUnderstanding and application of tax laws and regulations (including federal, state, and local tax laws)Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities:
Manage tax engagements such as tax compliance, tax planning, and tax consulting services within the agreed timelines and budgetProvide tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectorsSupervise and manage the tax team by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team performs its tasks effectively and efficientlyCommunicate with clients to understand their business operations, identify tax planning opportunities, and provide tax advice to minimize tax liabilities and improve tax complianceReview tax returns prepared by the tax team to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulationsKeep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide clients with accurate and relevant tax advice
