    Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN - Day Shift - INTEGRIS Grove Hospital

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex imaging procedures using different radioisotopes and equipment.

    • Successful completion of a two-year program for Radiology Technology or a four-year program in nuclear medicine.
    • Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
    * n The Nuclear Medicine Technologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Performs all exams involved in Nuclear Medicine.
    • Starts IVs, initiates proper dose injections and calculates pharmaceutical stress dosages.
    • Maintain records to assure the department operations within the guidelines of the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
    • Maintain records of all quality control testing as well as be able to perform wipe test, dose calibration, floods for uniformity, center of rotation, well counter and energy peak test.
    • Schedules radiation safety meetings quarterly, keeping minutes and provide training radiation safety classes to nursing and ancillary service departments.
    • Reports to the Director of Radiology.

    Nuclear Medicine functions involve a moderate exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, electrical equipment, chemicals such as Developer and Fixer, alcohol, Betadine, Clorox, Virex, Floor wax, etc.

    Exposed to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors and assorted chemicals.
