    RMC is currently in search of a Senior Engineer to fill a hybrid role, who lives in one of the following locations Washington, DC, Norfolk, VA, Bremerton, WA, or San Diego, CA.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Senior Engineer will provide expertise regarding utilities systems (Including but not limited to electrical power, water, wastewater, natural gas, steam, chilled/hot water, and bulk fuels) such as found on military installations or medium-sized communities.

    The Senior Engineer will conduct mission assurance assessments on military facilities and utility infrastructure and associated control systems, with respect to reliability, resiliency, and redundancy.


    The Senior Engineer will be responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data and writing reports regarding their observations and recommendations.


    The ability to work and excel in a team environment and collaborate on group projects is an absolute necessity for this position.


    The Senior Engineer will be responsible to be the Lead Engineer to assist the project manager with peer engineers in preparation of and during the mission assurance assessments.


    The Senior Engineer must be able to clearly communicate and articulate technical issues to customers and other team members as well as prepare formal presentations and professional written reports, primarily serving clients within the US Navy and United States Marine Corps.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Develop original reports, edit reports, and coordinate the efforts of other people to ensure engineering related reports are completed on time and to the required quality standard.

    Provide technical input to proposals, articles, brochures, reports, and manuals.
    Provide timely responses to DoD taskers and other government requests.
    Develop and participate in engineering and internal company product development meetings and trainings.

    Prepare studies and analyze technical drawings and specifications of utilities systems to determine compliance with standards and military mission requirements.

    Collect and analyze data relating to systems infrastructure and building loads to identify potential system deficiencies and vulnerabilities to the full spectrum threats and hazards.

    Determine the operating efficiency of utility infrastructure systems.

    Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams, and other data to identify means of correcting utilities system problems and weaknesses.

    Produce analysis results in writing to convey complex technical issues in a logical manner understandable to non-technical individuals.
    Respond to requests for technical support, as needed.
    Prepare and make presentations on various engineering topics.
    Assist other personnel in understanding and interpreting engineering data.

    Review applicable mission data, plans, instructions, and commander's guidance to help determine the criticality of specific assets, identify single points of failure and degradation to tenant, installation, Navy, Marine Corps, and DoD missions.

    Identify and report transportation

    and capability vulnerabilities, program policy gaps, and provide recommended risk mitigation measures.
    Ensure all projects and tasks are completed on time and within specified deadlines.
    Continuously work to enhance customer satisfaction by addressing their needs and resolving issues promptly.
    Report peer review, editing, and adjudication.

    Responsible as the Lead Engineer to assist the project manager with peer engineers in preparation of and during the mission assurance assessments.

    Track personal workload 30 days out to meet deliverable requirements and identify tasking gaps.
    Support in training of newly hired engineers prior to and during assessments.


    COMPETENCIES
    Core experience with one more

    Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing

    (MEP) utility systems and components.
    Engineering Design
    Engineering Assessments (Field Work)
    Proven ability to synthesize large amounts of information and write clearly about complex issues.
    Self-Starter having the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Preferred experience with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) requirements
    Preferred knowledge with LEED, IEEE, NERC, FERC, NFPA 70 and other Federal, State and Local Codes
    High degree of competency with Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and Office products with an emphasis on Excel


    DESIRED
    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
    Familiarity with industry standards and pertinent federal policy
    Military background or experience with military facilities design or construction

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    4-Year+ Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Accredited Degree in Engineering
    Bachelor of Science in the following fields: Architectural, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical
    11+ years' experience in technical field

    Experience with

    Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing

    (MEP) Utility Systems

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
    Engineer-in-Training or have an interest in obtaining Engineer-in-Training status.

    Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
    Project Management Professional (PMP)

    Requirements

    Security Clearance:
    Obtaining a DoD

    Secret


    Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for clearance level required for the job.


    Valid Passport:
    Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until the expiration date.

    Travel Flexibility:
    Willingness and capability to travel, both domestically (CONUS) and internationally (OCONUS), approximately 25% of the time.

    Telecommunication is authorized for this role.


    This hybrid role includes monthly travel to a local designated government site to work on secure networks and maintain access.

    Ability to maintain and access NIPR/SIPR accounts by monthly travel to employees designated regional site.
