We are looking for a hands-on Data Platform Engineer in the Group Compliance & Regulatory Governance (GCRG)

Technology team to:
implement and deliver high quality DevOps solutions for our new state of the art AI model deployment and execution platform using technologies like Gitlab, ADO, Terraform to deliver services such as Databricks, Kubernetes, Postgres, Azure Data Factory, Azure Cognitive Search

provide DevOps tools and process Subject Matter Expertise to our team and be the DevOps expert in our team

act as resident Azure cloud expert in the development team and liaise with other Azure Cloud and SRE teams for Azure related activities/issues

ensure seamless continuous integration and deployment practices

drive automation initiatives to improve development, infra provisioning and release processes

Your team

You'll be working in the GCRG AI Data and Analytics IT team based in Weehawken.

Our team is building a comprehensive data platform with both cloud based applications and in-house microservices that enable data patterns into the data lake.

Eventually the Data Platform enable the data strategy for Reporting, Analytics, AI and Data Science platform.

Our applications are integrated with other systems in
UBSso it's important that in this role, you will be able to collaborate with other IT teams located across the globe.

You'll combine your technical vision, analytical, communication and leadership skills to drive the design, development and implementation of big data systems.

You'll translate business requirements into the appropriate data models, processing frameworks and data workflows that can integrate disparate data sources into an enterprise data lake.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside other talented engineers, CTO, and data scientists on cutting-edge big data, search, machine learning and analytics problems.

Your expertise

a Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science

ideally 5+ years of hands-on design and development experience in several of the relevant technology areas (GitLab, Terraform, Azure, ADO, Azure Data Lake, Azure Kubernetes Service, Spark, Databricks etc.)

designed, implemented and maintained CI/CD and IaC pipelines

experience with Java or Scala or Python would be a strong advantage

a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle – working in an Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) environment

excellent written and verbal communication skills

background in Financial Services domain would be an advantage
