Job description

Tri-County Therapy, LLC ("TCT") is a pediatric therapy company that provides therapy services for children from birth to 18 years old. TCT's mission is to provide quality therapy to children while building a diverse community of talent where each team member feels empowered to bring their unique differences to work and achieve their full innovative potential.

TCT offers a multi-disciplinary approach with speech, occupational, and physical therapy services. TCT has clinics located in the following South Carolina cities: Charleston, Ladson, Mount Pleasant, Greenville, and Anderson. We also provide therapy in the natural environment, including homes, the community, and preschools.

Our Ladson therapy team is looking for a part-time intern 3 days a week (about 12-18 hours a week) to help with projects that can be used in therapy, assistance with maintaining treatment room cleanliness and toy sanitation, organization of supplies and materials, and more

All internships are intended for university students pursuing a career in Occupational, Speech, or Physical Therapy (or a related field). Positions are temporary and require a 12-week commitment. At the conclusion of each 12-week term, performance, scheduling, and operational needs will be reviewed to determine whether the internship will be extended for an additional term.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Shadow/observe pediatric therapists to gain insight into different therapy disciplines
  • Assisting with cleaning and sanitizing treatment rooms, common areas, and therapy supplies (including high chairs, table/chairs, waiting room, swings/slides, toys, surfaces, empty trash etc.
  • Empty the dishwasher each morning, and load/start the dishwasher before leaving (or as needed)
  • Maintain and organize shoe/sock station for patients and therapists (wash and put away socks/towels throughout the day as needed)
  • Organize clinic toys and therapy tools, and remove excess toys/equipment from shared treatment spaces
  • Large gym and small gym: sweep floors under the mats, pick up mats/wipe off cracks, use spray cleaner and disinfect both top and bottom prior to placing them back down
  • Sensory room, infant room, and all treatment rooms: sweep the floors, pick up mats/wipe off cracks, use spray cleaner and disinfect both top and bottom prior to placing them back down
  • Complete supply audits and notify clinic supervisor of needed items
  • Organize the monthly theme materials for the clinic
  • Help prepare 1-2 crafts per week
  • Laminate or prep materials for therapists, upon request

Knowledge, Experience, and Education Required:

  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent degree
  • Scheduling availability to support 12-18 hours per week (min 2 days per week)
  • Demonstrates initiative and independent judgment in performing job responsibilities
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Collaborative and supportive in a team environment

This is a great way to earn hours for a degree program, boost experience for one's resume, and network to build professional references. When feasible, internship hours may be tailored to accommodate class schedules/coursework and provide necessary flexibility if currently pursing a degree. Internships include the opportunity for clinical shadowing under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist, providing assistance with daily clinic upkeep that may include prepping activities, assisting with session setup/cleanup, and general sanitization of therapy materials and spaces, and/or light cleaning.

A perfect candidate is self-motivated, a team player, compassionate, fun loving, and detail oriented. If this is you, we would love for you to join our team

We would love to hear about you and your goals. Our mission is to provide the best quality care for our patients, which reflects directly on our employees and who we place in specific positions. Please submit your resume, and our management team will contact you to schedule an interview.
