Danlaw is looking for an experienced Automotive Business Development Manager for its growing Engineering Solutions division which will focus on developing new opportunities for the embedded marketplace.
Our engineering services offering includes embedded systems development and testing with a concentration on AV/ADAS, electrification, cybersecurity, and connected vehicles.
With four decades of operation, Danlaw serves automotive OEMs and tier suppliers globally.The Business Development Manager will focus on the creation of new business for the division with offerings in both products and services.
The successful candidate will have experience closing business in the automotive domain, particularly on software products and/or engineering services.Tasks
Aggressively pursue and close business for Engineering Solutions division
Create strong customer relationships
Research and pro-actively approach new customers
Understand and address customer challenges
Maintain pipeline and bookings in CRM system while remaining active in customer projects throughout the engagement process
Produce technical and commercial proposals with assistance from engineering teams
Assist marketing team with input for sales collateral and media engagement
Identify and nurture key partnerships with companies providing complementary products and services
Network with automotive industry leaders to understand trends and identify new business opportunities
Participate in customer facing engagements such as tradeshows and open house events
Review CRM repository and reach out / update to customers on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Master of Business Administration or equivalent (advanced degree preferred)
4 years + experience in Automotive Industry with 2+ year experience in a customer facing role
Experience selling highly complexity automotive electronic products (engineering tools, embedded ECUs, or similar)
Exposure to HIL/SIL, Co-Simulation, Virtual ECUs, Embedded Systems, AUTOSAR, Vector tools, SOA
Experience working with Automotive OEM's & Tiered suppliers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience managing and writing proposals
Negotiation skills

High level of energy and initiative, with the ability to work independently when required
Customer focused and a drive for sales
Ability to understand and communicate abstract technical and business concepts
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external technical teams to produce innovative customer solutions
