Description
About the EmployerThe Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), develop programs and coordinate services to support special education teachers, administrators, parents, and students with exceptional needs and the community agencies serving them; serve as liaison between schools, parents and outside agencies; plan and implement staff development.
**Tentative interviews will be held the week of May 13, 2024.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Possess a valid California Special Education Credential, or a Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Psychologist authorization;
•Administrative Services Credential or ability to obtain within two years of employment is desirable;
•A Master of Arts Degree, desirable;
•Three (3) years of experience in a California K-12 environment during which knowledge of special education needs and program issues was acquired;
•Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver's License;
•Provide proof of automobile insurability;
•Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.

BENEFITS
Employees are provided with an insurance plan, which includes health, vision, and dental insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents, at a shared cost. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) and may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
