    Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Technician

    About the Job

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency of our vehicles.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment.
    • Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on all fleet vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Perform expert diagnosis and repair on all fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems, intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
    • Mentor and train junior technicians to aid in their development.
    • Assist in moderate supervisory roles when the Fleet Manager or Supervisor is not available.
    • Perform electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.

    Requirements

    • 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
    • Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
      • ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
      • Expert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems.
      • Expert knowledge and skill in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair.
      • Moderate knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).
    • Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training.
    • Current and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred, Not Required).

    Working Conditions

    The technician must provide own tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnostics.

    Frequently works outdoors and may be required to work in confined spaces.

    The associate works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
