    Railhead is presently seeking multiple professionals, including a Systems Engineer to work at Ft.

    Meade, MD supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies, called Defense Enclave Services (DES).

    The DES contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities' common-use information technology systems, personnel, functions, and program elements under the direction of DISA's Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
    • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the premigration activities necessary to close gaps
    • Forecast backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
    • Design solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types serverbased applications based on Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems.
    • Optimize endtoend system performance and migration workflows.
    • Conduct data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information.
    • Define migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community.
    • Establish migration plans for complex ntier applications and services.
    • Gather needed data to forecast longterm capacity and performance requirements

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Secret Security Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
    • Proficiency with enterpriseclass serverbased services such as: directory services, collaboration tools, monitoring tools, and virtual infrastructure.
    • DoD IAT Level II (Security+ ) certification or equivalent is required, prior to start

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Consulting firm experience.
    • Strong knowledge of networking, storage, cyber, and data center facilities.
