Job summary
The Medical Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support to clinics.A medical assistant must be able to work independently as well as interact with other staff members.
Certified medical assistant experience preferred,
- Administrative tasks such as answering phone calls addressing patient requests scheduling appointments etc.
- Processes outgoing patient referrals checks out discharges patients collects copayments ensures all supplies are properly stocked MA maintains effective work area schedules patient appointments medical procedures using EMR system obtains surgical diagnostic insurance authorizations prepares examination rooms ensures necessary supplies required for patient care are readily available cleans examination rooms stocks supplies greets patients in waiting area escorts them lab applicable examination room prepares patients appointment assists patients placing personal belongings appropriate place exam room verifies history prior seeing physician obtains vital signs records EMR assists physicians office procedures specific task second pair hands do not require administration medications collaborates RNs LPNs provide high quality patient care MA working knowledge OSHA compliance standards applies policies daily responsibilities completes timely manner training inservices including but not limited annual OSHA training PPD placements
