    Little Powder School is located approx. 35 miles north of Gillette

    INTERVENTIONIST/TUTOR

    NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
    To plan and implement specialized intervention experiences through high quality instruction for students.





    JOB FUNCTIONS:


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


    • Provides high quality general education instruction to students who are at-risk in reading, writing and/or mathematics.
    • Uses identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties.
    • Provides the high quality instructional time needed to move students to grade level proficiency.
    • Monitors program effectiveness by analyzing assessment results at the school level and provides supports to teachers as needed.
    • Attends all meetings and trainings as assigned.
    • Communicates with Principal on school-wide progress of interventions.
    • Utilizes tracking form to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
    • Provides clear and timely information to parents/caregivers and colleagues regarding classroom expectations, student progress, and ways they can assist learning.
    • Provides high quality general education to students identified as gifted and talented.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS:


    • Accepts other duties as may be assigned which are related to the scope of the job.
    • Independently plans and implements activities to address the needs of students

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND MENTAL ABILITY:


    • Strong background in instructional strategies, leadership ability, and content related to school improvement plans.

    EDUCATION, LICENSE,


    CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:


    • Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming (Elementary Education Degree).
    • Possess at a minimum a Bachelor's Degree.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


    • Be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods without fatigue or discomfort.
    • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Be able to lift above the head at least 50 pounds.
    • Be able to push up to 200 pounds up to 30 feet.
    • Be able to pull up to 100 pounds up to 50 feet.
    • Be able to carry up to 25 pounds up to 100 feet.
    • Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, finger, talk, hear, and see.

    ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:


    • Be able to spend most of the time inside classrooms with some work outside in cold/hot weather.
    • Be able to tolerate noise up to 90 decibels.
    • Be able to work in a building that heats with coal.
    • Be able to work after dark.

    Minimum Salary - $10,200

    Maximum Salary - $16,500
