    About The Role

    Summary

    Under the direction of the GBCI Director of Risk Management, the Corporate Risk Analyst uses problem solving, analytical, project management, and organizational skills, as well as bank/risk knowledge to coordinate a variety of risk management functions at a fast-growing bank. The position is part of our Enterprise Risk Management team, which focuses on ensuring the organization grows and matures its risk discipline commensurate with the size and complexity of the bank. The primary duties include managing and assisting in the execution and evolution of the company's risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) program, enhancement of department and new initiative risk assessment methodologies, administration and enhancement of enterprise risk technologies (e.g. GRC platform), and support for loss event, issues management, and other enterprise risk management programs. Applies diverse methodologies to improve risk management by collaborating with the first line of defense (business lines) on improving their risk/control understanding and ownership

    This is a Corporate position which may be located at an available bank division location across our eight-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY. The entry rate for this position is $78, / per year. (calculated for Kalispell, MT).

    All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

    Description

  • In conjunction with the Director Risk Management, develops, improves, maintains, and directs the execution of the company's risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process. Through collaboration, enhances first line of defense capabilities to ensure risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and proactively controlled.
  • Develops analytics, systems, and reports for risk management. Assists in the implementation and management of a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system and other technologies to accommodate risk assessments, issues management, key risk indicators (KRIs), risk-dashboards, etc.
  • Participates in the due diligence process for new or changing products, services, and endeavors. Conducts risk assessments in conjunction with business line managers/staff. Assists in improving internal controls throughout the organization.
  • Collaborates with and potentially leads teams on other risk activities including risk appetite framework, business intelligence reporting and data/query analysis, corporate governance framework, departmental risk assessments, business continuity planning, committee/board presentations, and other activities, including emerging risk topics.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills demonstrated by the ability to read and interpret documents, write policies and procedures, create analytical reports, and speak persuasively with all stakeholders.

    • Ability to collaborate, motivate, persuade, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Internal and external stakeholders include the Board, executive management, business units, auditors, consultants, and regulators.

    • Depth of experience in enterprise or operational risk management, particularly RCSA. Ability to lead detailed process assessments with management across all departments, including identification of process risks and controls and potential gaps.

    • Understanding of bank business line operations, products, services, systems and associated risk/controls. Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and audit competencies with experience using GRC platforms for data collection, aggregation, and reporting.

    • Passion to continuously identify and execute improvement opportunities within the risk department and across the organization to better enhance and develop the institution's risk culture and practices.

    • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, key risks, and emerging risks impacting banks across multiple risk categories (including operational, compliance, strategic, reputation, credit, etc.).

    • Self-starter with ability to take ownership and accountability of assignments.

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to design and execute new programs.

    • Solid relationship building and management skills; professional demeanor and relentless follow-through in a non-threatening manner.

    • Strong organizational skills, adaptability to frequent changing demands, and ability to appropriately prioritize numerous open projects.

    • Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.

    Travel
