- Machining small and large parts to specifications using machine tools such lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders and vacuum fixtures.
- Use precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machine process.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Knowledge of how to position and fasten work pieces.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency and submit recommendations for improvement.
- Set controls to regulate machining or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
- Establish work procedures for fabricating new structural products using a variety of metalworking machines.
- 3 years' experience operating 3-, 4-, and 5- axis CNC Machines; gantry style machines a plus.
- 2 years of experience in aerospace environment
- Experience editing programs.
- Experience boring high precision holes.
- Ability to read, understand and follow step by step procedures.
- Experience using/reading mechanical measuring tools.
- Familiar with 5S manufacturing procedures
- Proven excellent attendance record.
