    Position Summary:


    As a key member of the accounting team and monthly close process, the Senior Accountant is responsible for recording routine journal entries and general ledger accounting for assigned areas, including performing balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.

    This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting activities for assigned areas and assisting accounting management with projects as requested.

    The Senior Accountant also works closely with the finance team during monthly close to review financial activity in general ledger accounts to identify and record correcting entries and reclassifications, where necessary.

    Record daily, weekly, and monthly accounting entries for assigned areas.

    Partner with peers in accounting finance, operations, IT, and human resources to obtain answers to questions and the necessary knowledge to be successful in assigned areas.

    Proactively participate with the integrations and related teams as requested by accounting management. Help to ensure acquired practices are timely and effectively transitioned.

    Skillfully analyze balance sheet accounts and reconciliations to ensure monthly journal entries have been properly recorded and that we have a solid understanding of "what is in our balance sheet accounts as of month-end" as opposed to just a roll forward of general ledger activity.

    Assist external auditors with the annual audit, schedule preparation, and assistance as requested.
    Assist with preparation of reporting for certain technical accounting matters, including equity transactions and insurance reserves. Deliver timely and accurate accounting entries, footnote disclosures, or other deliverables as required, for areas of responsibility. Interface with external technical resources (actuaries, valuation specialists, accounting consultants).

    Assist in the research, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of various technical accounting issues, new accounting pronouncements, and non-traditional accounting alternatives within the GAAP framework.

    Display strong written and interpersonal communication skills while being able to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to all levels of employees.


    Position Qualifications:

    Education :
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance


    Previous Experience :
    Must have 3-4 years in Public accounting serving publicly traded clients or directly for publicly traded companies.

    CPA
    Physician practice, healthcare experience
    M&A experience preferred
    Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley.
    SAGE preferred.
    Expert-demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills

    The ideal candidate will have a strong general ledger, and/or public accounting experience, and work through complex problems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    Experience with fast-paced private equity-backed, M&A-oriented business environment and/or public accounting audit environment preferred
