**Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**
Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, the following:
Manages the eligible drivers to best utilize hours of service, maximize line haul revenue and minimize empty miles.
Assists with load planning of trucks and drivers, tracking all deliveries, and planning back hauls for some trucks.
Coordinates with Safety to ensure proper use of driver logs.
Coordinates with all dispatch teams to ensure on time delivery of loads.
Coordinates with Customer Service to notify customers of problem loads.
Responds to driver questions and driver needs via email, phone and/or via onboard computer.
Complies with maintenance department requests for routing equipment for repairs or inspections.
Assists with the training of drivers on fuel mileage and logs.
Coordinates repairs with vendors and drivers.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
Directly supervises all Company and Owner/Operator Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
**Education and/or Experience:**
Bachelors degree in Business or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
