    About the role:

    We are looking for a Chief Project Engineer Electronics who will join the Automotive Lighting Product Development team to support and lead projects reporting directly to department management. This position is based at our office in Southfield, MI.

    As Chief Project Engineer you will:


    • Be the functional project leader of Headlamp and Rear Lamp during the product development,

    and be responsible for the development and the validation of electronic components for exterior vehicle lighting. Lead the team to achieve project technical targets while controlling quality, cost and timing on electronic development. Define the project milestones for electronic development and validation comply the AL/Customer requirements. Make customer presentations and attend internal/external meetings.


    • Coordinate the Cross functional team of hardware, layout, software, electro-mechanical, functional safety and validation. Samples planning for project development (hardware, software, EMC etc...) and PCBA industrialization track.


    • Coordination of all electronic activities and release of electronic documentation


    • Electronic system architecture definition and integration between light system and vehicle in cooperation with customer.


    • Be the Electronic leader for components PCBAs / Drive and integration with complete lamps development. Review and release the plan for electrical, environment and EMC tests. Electronic system architecture definition and integration between light system and vehicle in cooperation with customer.


    • Represent the engineering team communicating with Customer, suppliers and internal departments about project related subjects. Work in different development phases of project respecting the schedule, cost, quality and internal / customer / legal requirements.

    What you will bring:

    Education: Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering Degree (minimum Bachelor, Master preferred) or comparable studies

    Experience: At least 2 years in electronic development (designing and industrializing) exterior lighting products for vehicles. (LED-CPBAs, Drive-PCBAs and drives). At least two projects developed and industrialized. Experience in leading and organizing an engineering team (Desirable). International exposure (Desirable).

    • Strong communication skills
    • Interdisciplinary know-how about software-hardware-engineering, lighting engineering, mechatronic design, electronic validation methodologies and EMC
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
    • ECAD tools preferable CADENCE (Basic level).
    • Electronic circuit and component knowledge of complex electronic systems
    • Microsoft Office (experienced level – MS-office and project).
    • Design and industrialization processes (e. g. DFMEA).
    • English language is mandatory, other languages appreciated.
