    AWC is looking to hire a Safety Quality Supervisor at our Chicago NS location. This location is near 130th/Torrence on the south side of Chicago.

    The shift is M-F 8a-4:30p but you must be able to work on the weekends or night if there is an investigation as needed.

    Summary

    To coordinate activities of AWC, safety, quality and claims operations. To conduct quality assurance audits assuring standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. To resolve quality, production, claims, safety and efficiency concerns collaboratively with the Terminal Manager(s). Provide additional supervision for all facets of the operation as needed.

    Essential functions (training is involved)

    Enforces and coordinates operational safety activities (i.e., safety meetings, workplace training/education, new safety initiatives/programs and safety policies for the assigned
    Confers and coordinates with management personnel on enforcing operational policies and

    Performs periodic safety, environmental and quality reviews at the facility using established AAR, Ford and Norfolk- Southern requirements, OSHA and corporate safety, environmental and ISO criteria to evaluate conformance.

    Responsible for maintaining compliance with all ISO (We will train on all requirements)
    Manage safety, claims and quality for assigned terminals as well as help manage worker's compensation
    Ensure compliance with all EPA requirements including but not limited to SWPP, SPCC, Hazard Waste Generator permit, Hazard business plan, (We will train on all requirements)
    Perform all environmental, safety and health audits for the assigned

    Chair the monthly Safety Committee, completing minutes of meetings and advise the Terminal Managers of critical meeting content and suggestions for improvement.

    Ensures all AAR, ISO, OSHA, EPA and AWC policies, processes and procedures are followed including applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement rules.

    Revises terminal policies, procedures, handbooks, training materials and other site specific AWC documents as necessary to ensure compliance.
    Conducts audits for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including Creates corrective action plans to address any non-compliances.

    Documents audit results, corrective action plan and follow-up reports advising the Terminal Managers and Regional Human Resource Manager of results and recommendations.

    Trains new associates and other AWC staff as needed on current safety policies and
    Trains all associates on safety/AAR, investigation procedures and completion of AWC, Federal or State required
    Assists in training new temporary
    Is actively involved in all worker's compensation cases including facilitating the site Return to Work Program as needed.
    Monitors and performs safety
    Monitors all ISO compliance trends at the assigned
    Investigates all accidents and injuries and completes required reports (600, 601 and OSHA Logs).

    Keep abreast of changes with AAR, OSHA, EPA, ISO, and other regulations and advise management of necessary actions to remain compliant.

    Perform safety observations, JSA's and PPE risk assessments including inspection of vans and equipment to ensure proper maintenance, forwarding repair requests to the appropriate
    Ensure that all OSHA logs are posted and taken down in accordance with OSHA

    Maintain Safety Manuals and provide terminals with updates on items such as PPE lists, site and floor plans, evacuation plans, emergency preparedness plans and hazardous chemical lists.

    Understand and abide by all ISO and AAR quality requirements and train associates as required to ensure compliance.
    Under the direction of AWC management, act as the facilitator for third party AAR quality
    Assist Terminal Managers with property
    Update and maintain facility evacuation procedures and
    Observes, documents, and assists all associates in daily tasks, instructing them on appropriate work behavior and/or performance issues as needed through positive coaching, mentoring and issuing of disciplinary reprimands as necessary to ensure AWC safety, quality and work standards are
    Maintains a positive work environment through excellent communication and professional and ethical behavior to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers, union officials, and
    Any other duties as assigned by the Terminal

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Must possess the ability to function effectively under
    Must possess good verbal and written communication
    Ability to occasionally work rotating shifts and/or weekends to meet the needs of the terminals and
    Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions 75% of the

    Minimum Requirements

    Must have and maintain a valid state driver's
    Must have a good sense of balance and ability to maintain 3 points of contact for safety
    Must be able to climb ladders at heights up to 30
    Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission
    Minimum of 6 months experience as a
    1+ years of accident and injury experience and/or OSHA training
