  • Use portable power tools and shop machinery for on-site equipment repair, modification, rebuild, or improvement projects.
  • Collaborate positively with managers, operators, and fellow mechanics to assess mechanical issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Perform inspection, cleaning, and documentation of equipment condition and maintenance performed, maintaining accurate preventative maintenance records.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety policies, plant dress code, hygiene standards, and housekeeping expectations.
  • Perform emergency repairs quickly and efficiently to reduce equipment downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations for upgrades, replacements, or process improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring issues and improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and commissioning of new machinery or production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to workplace safety, equipment maintenance, and environmental controls.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies; notify supervisor of low stock or reorder needs.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices, new technologies, and company policies through training and professional development.
  • Support audits and inspections by preparing documentation and ensuring equipment is compliant with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are returned to proper storage after use.
  • Follow instructions from supervisor (regarding policies, procedures and all changes that may occur).
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Adhere to and enforce all personal safety procedures; promptly escalate any safety concerns to management
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • May be required to assist in training team members or provide coverage during absences, although the position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
