    Medical Laboratory Scientist 8127 Location: Boston MA Schedule: 12:30PM - 9pm or 3PM - 11:30 PM Mon-Friday rotating weekends Projected duration: 6 months + potential for perm Job code: CVDJP Benefits are available Vaccine requirement: Covid and
    Flu Education: 2 year MLT or BS MT, BS ASCP is preferred but not required.

    Shift: 12:30PM - 9pm or 3PM - 11:30 PM Mon-Friday rotating weekends Education requirement: 4 year BS, but HM is open to MLT


    Certification :
    ASCP or AMT is preferred but not required.

    Generalist with blood bank experience Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria ? Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures ? Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality ? Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.


    • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Summary: The main function of a travel technician is to travel to different locations and perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease

    Job Responsibilities:
    Set up, adjust, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment. Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical and electrical devices.

    Analyze, gather and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives. Obtain specimens, cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis. May examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.

    Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found


    Skills:
    Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.

    Basic knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases. Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.
