    Overview:
    Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join its fast-paced Marketing department. The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in increasing visibility for our diversified law firm.

    This position is open to the following cities: Columbia, SC; Greenville, SC; or Charlotte, NC.


    A Day in the Life:


    The Marketing Specialist will support all aspects of creating, developing, and facilitating the completion of submissions to selected legal directories (such as Chambers and Legal 500), as well as awards, lists, and rankings published by various news organizations and other publications.

    Responsibilities
    Works with the Communications Supervisor and Marketing Supervisors to prepare submissions for various legal directories.
    Drafts award nominations for the firm and its attorneys.

    Prepares press releases about recognitions:
    awards, legal directory rankings and surveys.
    Reviews and updates biographies, practice overviews, firm profiles, and other content in directories.
    Does research about awards and submissions-related opportunities, publications and organizations; and maintains a no-go award list.

    Liaises with legal directory editorial staff and researchers to understand methodology and submission guidelines, and other information specific to the opportunity; informs third parties about rankings as they relate to both lateral hires and attorney departures.

    Updates Firms experience database.
    Completes business surveys.
    Assists with various marketing initiatives and events as needed.


    We Know You:
    Requirements
    Bachelors degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or English. Advanced degree (MBA, MA, MS, JD) a plus.
    Experience within a legal or professional services environment working with practices in a business development, marketing, or communications capacity.
    Ability to write compelling stories.
    Attention to detail required.
    Experience in interviewing preferred.

    Strong deadline orientation:

    an ability to handle time-sensitive requests from multiple lawyers, across time zones, and to generate quality work product in a fast-paced environment.

    Occasional overtime as needed.
    To be successful in this role, the Marketing Specialist should have excellent written and oral communication skills. The Nelson Mullins Marketing team works in a strong collaborative environment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while exhibiting excellent attention to details is essential.

    Project management and time management skills with the ability to solve problems and a willingness to find a way forward a must.

    This position requires the ability to adapt to different tones and voices from various audiences.

    We are seeking someone with a professional demeanor with the ability to provide tactful, honest counsel and comfortable sharing experience and point of view on topics as well as recommending approaches.
