    If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you We are searching for aSenior Engineer to join our technical team located at our Hefty manufacturing plant in Temple, TX.


    Your Role:


    As a Senior Engineer, you will collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and the Business team to deliver new material technology options for the Hefty Business Unit.

    You will have the opportunity to:

    • Lead projects to achieve raw material cost savings and raw material supplier strategy objectives.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
    • Propose capital investments and product re-engineering opportunities that drive process, material, and product design improvements.
    • Review current resin specifications and identify alternative specifications to improve productivity, optimize costs, and enhance RCP's product portfolio.
    • Identify and quantify risks within the resin manufacturing process and draft contingency plans.
    • Complete key activities to support resin material development: Define product scale up strategies, assess specifications and define appropriate material formulation/blends, prepare trial plans, guide technicians in preparation and execution of material trials, collaborate with the RDE conversion team to complete trial objectives, provide direction to laboratory personnel regarding product test methods, complete trial data statistical analysis, report results to business development teams, establish material & product specifications, maintain documentation, provide technical product support through manufacturing startup.
    Ultimately, you will promote plant initiatives and manage implementation that will have a direct impact on the company.

    We need you to have:

    • BS degree in an Engineering discipline.
    • 8 years of engineering experience in a technical role.
    • Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplined teams.
    • Strong hands-on experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and manufacturing processes.
    • Understanding of plastic materials and additives and their inclusion in material blends.
    • Advanced knowledge about new technology and equipment used in blown film extrusion, bag conversion, profile/track extrusion, sheet extrusion, thermoforming and/or injection molding.
    • Ability to lead trial planning and execution to support objectives.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Solid project execution capabilities with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Works independently/self-starter/is highly accountable.
    • Basic understanding of statistical techniques and methods (DOE, SPC, etc.).
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
    • Availability to travel up to 30%, including international (majority domestic).

    Icing on the cake:

    • Plastics and Polymers manufacturing background, especially in Blown Film Extrusion.
    • Process engineering experience with operational improvements.
    • Experience in R&D and/or large multi-plant manufacturing environments.
