- Review and handle all reported events and near misses
- Investigate reported issues by interviewing staff at all levels, including patients
- Lead or contribute to investigations of Serious Safety Events and Sentinel Events
- Conduct medical record reviews and provide recommendations for improving patient care processes
- Facilitate Peer Review processes for Divisions and assist in quality improvement initiatives
- Initiate changes in patient care practices based on quality improvement activities
- Provide support to colleagues regarding quality improvement and patient safety
- Develop programs to minimize patient safety hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Organize and manage various committees and teams related to quality assurance and patient safety
- Attend and contribute to Risk Management meetings and Staff Meetings
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Active State of Maine Nursing license or eligibility
- 3-5 years of progressive clinical experience in process improvement
- Certifications in Quality Improvement, patient safety, process improvement, or risk management preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Operate various office equipment
- Extended periods of sitting and keyboarding
- Occasional travel and exposure to hazardous conditions
- Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and twisting as needed
