    Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position at a children's hospital in Orange County, CA, requiring strong NICU experience and the ability to float across NICU, PICU, and general Pediatrics units.

    Details

    Home unit is a 22-bed Level III NICU, with consistent floating required to the PICU and general Pediatrics unit
    NICU patient population includes preterm infants as young as 22+ weeks gestational age, as well as patients with Respiratory Distress, Hyperbilirubinemia, IDM/Poor feeding, Failure to Thrive, and Hypoglycemia, with a focus on quiet developmental supportive care
    PICU is an 8-bed Level II unit treating traumas, respiratory diagnoses, ingestions, and surgical cases
    General Pediatrics unit has 24 beds and includes an embedded Eating Disorder Stabilization Program and a long-term EEG program
    Candidates must be prepared to care for patients up to 18 years of age across all units
    Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
    6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period
    Major holiday blocks are observed for scheduling purposes
    13-week contract with the possibility of extension beyond 13 weeks
    Requirements

    Active CA RN license required

    Current certifications required:
    BLS, NRP, and PALS
    Minimum of 5 years of RN experience with solid ICU skills and strong NICU experience
    Level III NICU experience is essential given the complexity of the patient population
    Must be comfortable floating between NICU, PICU, and general Pediatrics settings
    Additional Information

    First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
    Orientation occurs only once per month — candidates must be available to begin on the scheduled start date
    Two professional references required for consideration
    Copies of all certifications required for consideration

    American Traveler Job ID #P Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
