This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Commissioning Manager. The position is a key member of the Commissioning team. This position will also support sales teams for commercial, industrial and utility-scale technical questions on an as needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform as a lead on smaller Commissioning Projects for PV
Perform pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of PV solar inverters achieving the milestones as agreed upon per the customer contract
Perform troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters, and LC Units and its components in the field. Use of PQA and oscilloscope is required as needed
Provide feedback to the engineering team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements
Lead upgrade projects (software and hardware) in the field and interact with customers to explain the technical scope of the project
Work with customer EMS/SCADA engineers to set-up systems communication and parameters
Create or modify Commissioning procedures if there is not one available for troubleshooting
Participate in training customers as requested by the Training Manager
Research alternative components that can be used in the field
Coordinate with R&D engineering in China if HQ support is required to complete Commissioning
Independently performs a range of Commissioning tasks involving coordination with Factory Engineering and Customer's engineer.
When using contractors on Commissioning sites, act as the Lead to ensure the contractors are submitting daily activity reports as well as JSA reports.
Prepare and submit your own Daily Activity Reports as well as Daily JSA Reports.Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work
Perform various other tasks as assigned for the successful completion of the Commissioning Process
Minimum Requirements:
7 plus years of overall experience in an engineering discipline
3 years of experience in PV systems
Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required
Must possess customer service, problem-solving skills, and possess decision making and analytical skills
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to closely follow instruction and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the ductions of the job
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook)
OSHA 10, NFPA 70e, Electrical Safety within 1 year of employment
Education or Desired License and Certificates:
Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college
Renewable industry experience is desired
Power Electronics experience is desired
OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire
NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire

For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000.
The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
