We have a new job opportunity for a Public Health Technician for a civil contract located at Naval Hospital, Pensacola, FL. (Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm)

OBJECTIVE:

To procure medical support services under the DHA strategic sourcing program.

DESCRIPTION:

• The job involves 60% work in an office environment and 40% work in an off-site environment conducting inspections for established facilities.
• Performs all required inspections and surveys and submits reports into the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS).
• Provides recommendations, assistance, and educational support regarding environmental health issues to area commands.
• Performs and/or coordinates the following as requested by the Environmental Health Officer:
  • Bacteriological analysis of potable water/ice.
  • Vector/rodent survey control program.
• Performs administrative functions in connection with departmental correspondence and training. Prepares and submits required reports accurately and on a timely fashion.
• Provides training in food service sanitation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Associate degree in environmental health, Safety, Sanitation, or related field; or Registered Sanitarian or Environmental Health Survey (EHS) from any state or National Environmental Health Association (NEHA); or graduate of Preventative Medicine Technician School 8432 Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC).
• Ability to operate various office equipment including personal computers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology with information and project management.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Navy Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health Programs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 360 applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Knowledge of NAVMED P-5010.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• US citizenship required.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with DOEHRS is desired, but not required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• $21.50 an hour
