    Basic Purpose:

    The Lead Cook - Food Prep Worker will prepare food for daily distribution following pre-defined recipes and menus meeting timebound requirements while food safety standards and specifications at our Covington, GA, location. The Lead Cook - Food Prep Worker will pack and portion food according to menu specifications, assist with clean up, storage, required recordkeeping and other duties.     Primary Responsibilities, Including but not limited to:

    • Prepare meals under direction of Kitchen Supervisord/Unit Management for distribution following standardized recipes and portioning controls
    • Follow food safety, sanitation and temperature controls
    • Assist with clean up of kitchen, pack area and other areas as directed
    • Perform general utility duties as directed
    • Preparation of meats, sauces, casseroles, desserts, gravies
    • Meat slicing
    • Complete and maintain paperwork and records as required
    • Assist with sanitation and housekeeping of the facility
    • Pack food products and components accurately
    • Complete all required recordkeeping
    • Participate in all required company training including but not limited to: HACCP, GMP requirements, ServSafe certification
    • Provide support to Pack and Sanitation staff
    • Other duties assigned by management.
    Cook - Food Prep Worker Qualifications:
    • Cooking experience (Institutional Preferred)
    • Operate equipment: Meat Slicer, Steam Kettles, Convection Ovens, Warmers, Pallet Jack, etc.
    • Able to follow written recipes and cooking/packaging instructions
    • Able to meet Employer's Attendance Standard
    • Able to Portion and Pack to Accurate Quantities/Counts
    • Provide support to Pack and Sanitation staff
