    American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of experience, Level II trauma center background, and multiple certifications including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.

    Responsibilities

    • 101-bed Emergency Care Center in a hospital setting
    • Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
    • Support staff includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area), triage staff, and unit clerks on days and nights
    • Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
    • Charting is done in Cerner
    • Evening/overnight shift: 2:45 PM – 3:15 AM
    • Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet department needs and block scheduling is not available
    • Floating is limited to within the ED only, but flexibility to work in all sections of the ED is required
    • 13-week contract
    • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
    • Navy scrubs are required
    • Department is known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture, serving a highly multicultural community with over 120 languages represented in the surrounding area
    • This is a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, serving as the region's referral hub
    • Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards updated throughout each visit
    • Attendance policy will be provided on the first day of orientation
    • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC certifications are accepted

    Requirements

    • Active NC or Compact RN license required
    • Required certifications (must be current prior to start): BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
    • ENPC required within 90 days of hire
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
    • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
    • Previous HCA experience preferred
    • Strong teamwork skills and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
    • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
    • One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
    • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
