    Job Purpose and Scope:
    Serve as in-house associate legal counsel specializing in labor and employment law. Conduct legal research, provide counsel, and represent the Bank in a wide variety of employment matters. Work under the direction of General Counsel and collaborate closely with Human Resources (HR) staff and outside legal counsel.

    Essential Job Functions:


    Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with business leaders, HR, General Counsel and other in-house legal team members, and outside counsel.

    Partner with HR to provide expert advice and support to business leaders on a variety of employment law matters.

    Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and application of various employment laws, regulations, and agencies (e.g., Title VIII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ADEA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, DOL, EEOC, OFCCP, OSHA).

    Proactively monitor and research federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and best practices related to the workplace and employment law matters; advise of developments that may affect the Bank.

    Collaborate with HR in the development and implementation of employment practices, policies, and compliance programs.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and maintain compliance with all relevant laws as it relates to company handbooks, policies and procedures, and affirmative action plans.

    Provide employment-related support on transactional matters including, but not limited to, employment agreements, offer letters, background checks, immigration matters, severance agreements, compensation and benefits plans, and leave management.

    Produce accurate, timely, and well-written (i.e., spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading) documents and responses to internal and external stakeholders.

    Lead or participate in investigating and responding to highly sensitive employment-related concerns, claims, and charges (e.g., employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour), collaborating closely with HR, General Counsel, and outside counsel, as appropriate.

    Coordinate and manage employment-related litigation with HR, General Counsel, and outside counsel.
    Represent the Bank in mediations, settlement meetings, and contract negotiations, as necessary.

    Analyze casework trends to produce strategic, proactive recommendations to HR and the business to proactively identify, address, and mitigate risk.

    Assist in developing and reviewing training materials related to employment law issues; may conduct training for managers and employees.
    Maintain excellent records and files concerning Bank-related legal matters.
    Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
    Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.
