- Responsible for the accurate intake of patient demographics; obtaining reimbursable diagnosis/reason for service; obtaining of preauthorization of insurance provider as required. And ensure that proper ICD 10 and reason for visits are obtained, as assigned.
- Data entry, and occasional processing of specimens.
- Inventory record keeping and supplies as directed
- Dispensation of patient results.
- Train new employees.
- Perform mobile registration when necessary.
- Cross train to all laboratory registration areas.
- Knowledge ofmedical terminology, problem-solving techniques, strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills, strong keyboarding and basic computer skills.
- Previous experience with hospital registration system and secretarial experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to function independently with minimal supervision. Possesses good decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to work under pressure, maintaining a helpful and courteous manner.
- Ability to type at 30 WPM.
- Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level; ability to perform statistical analysis at 12th grade level.
