Job summary
The Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital is recruiting for a Full-Time - Permanent - Physician (Pain Management Anesthesiology) and reports directly to the Chief of Anesthesia Pain Medicine.Duties include assessment of patients for anesthesia including pre-operative patient exam and assessment provision of insensibility to pain during surgical therapeutic and diagnostic procedures monitoring and restoration of homeostasis during the perioperative period as well as homeostasis in the critically ill injured or otherwise seriously ill patient diagnosis treatment of painful syndromes clinical management teaching of cardiac pulmonary resuscitation evaluation respiratory function application respiratory therapy in all its forms supervision teaching evaluation performance medical paramedical personnel in anesthesia pain medicine conduct research collaboration research efforts at clinical basic science level proactively identify gaps evidence practice then measure impact filling these gaps linking evidence practice relevant research findings quality improvement results systematically fed back providers patients appropriately administrative involvement hospitals medical schools outpatient facilities necessary implementation responsibilities involvement quality improvement efforts evaluation treatment chronic pain states utilization non-interventional interventional pain modalities treat chronic pain utilization proficiency fluoroscopic ultrasound guided procedures treat chronic pain
