The Bay Area Environmental Research (BAER) Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on
enabling and conducting research in Earth and space science, is seeking an electrical engineer for the
NASA Ames Earth Science Division with experience in optical remote sensing and thermal
    measurement/management

as it applies to airborne remote sensing platforms. Particularly, the
engineer will work with legacy remote sensing systems in a Tier 1 optical calibration lab for
maintaining, development, and deployment of airborne sensors.

    About the NASA

    Ames Airborne Sensor Facility:
The NASA Airborne Sensor Facility has been in operation since the 1980's supporting various satellite
imaging platform calibration and validation, as well as a variety of airborne research activities for the
NASA Earth Science Division. It conducts engineering development of remote sensing instrumentation,
real-time payload communications systems, and supports their operational use on science field
campaigns. The ASF maintains a suite of facility instruments that are made available for use by NASA-approved research projects, with all resulting data being made available free of charge through public
archives. These data are typically used for fundamental earth science process studies, satellite
calibration and validation, development of retrieval algorithms, and disaster response. The ASF is a
multidisciplinary research and engineering group operating out of NASA Ames, located in Mountain
    View, California.

The ASF is looking for an electrical engineer with a "Jack of All Trades" mentality but leaning towards
electronics as applied to detectors and sensors of various descriptions.
