Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced
RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based Med/Surg experience and an active KS or Compact
RN license.
Work setting is an acute care hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit (2 South/North)
Patient population includes General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, Orthopedic, and Medical patients (cellulitis, back pain, kidney stones)
Procedures and skills include Heparin Drips, TPN, PCAs, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
EMR is Epic; ability to test out of Epic training may be possible
12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Every other weekend required
No on-call responsibilities
Holiday coverage based on unit needs
Floating required to all acute care units
Orientation consists of approximately 5 days: initial NEO at the main campus, followed by on-site orientation and Director of Nursing training, with virtual Epic training on day 5 if unable to test out
This is a nicotine-free facility
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
Requirements
Active KS
RN or Compact
RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting
Experience with General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, and Orthopedic patient populations required
Experience with Medical diagnoses including cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones required
Experience with Heparin Drips, TPN, and PCAs required
Ability to measure and interpret telemetry rhythms required
New graduates are not eligible for this position
Two professional references required for consideration
