Habitat Restoration Specialist/Landscape Architect - Southern California

Lead the development of written conceptual design plans and construction document packages for habitat restoration and open space design projects including native revegetation passive recreation trails. Perform construction observations prepare punch list field reports for restoration other landscape implementation projects Conduct preliminary desktop analysis using GIS software Assist with resource agency permitting Coordinate with in-house biologists restoration ecologists landscape architects engineers Interpret habitat assessments vegetation mapping general biological resources surveys report documents Manage projects project workflow budget tracking financial performance sub-consultant coordination etc Draft scopes costs proposal efforts Collaborate business development opportunities Qualifications B.A or B.S in Restoration Ecology Environmental Science Earth System Science Biology Landscape Architecture applicable environmental field strong ecological background 8+ years experience habitat restoration planning implementation Excellent verbal written communication skills ability draft edit technical documents Proficiency operating AutoCAD software Able conduct strenuous field work hot weather steep terrain conditions Work may involve assignments remote locations overnight stays working individually License legally operate motor vehicle State California Self-motivated individual creative problem solver able work independently team environment Must possess valid driver license active personal automobile liability insurance first day employment Preferred qualifications MLA Landscape Architecture related design field professional landscape architecture license Ability act independently development new projects lead business development efforts collaboration Habitat Restoration Practice Director Experience QA/QC technical review conceptual design plans construction document packages informed expertise project experience Experience Resource Agency coordination mitigation projects In depth knowledge local ecology plant communities hydrology soils native non-native plant species Fluency restoration concepts ecological processes Experience knowledge environmental policies regulations require restoration work constrain various approaches restoration design implementation Familiarity operating GIS Land F/X software Experience mitigation banking/In-Lieu Fee programs Excellent technical writing skills
