+ Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in urban studies nonprofit management education business organizational leadership or related field Master's Degree preferred ideal candidates will have a master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university Four years' supervisory experience preferably in a union environment Two years' experience can be substituted for equivalent leadership experience in a community-based organization professional association CPL lead worker capacity or equivalent Two years' experience working for an organization that provides community-based services preferably in an urban setting.
+ Responsibilities: Plan manage the day-to-day operations of a Library branch Coordinate schedule supervise assign work assignments to staff Provide direct supervision of staff including orientation training discipline performance evaluations Comply with collective bargaining agreement(s).
+ Skills: Knowledge of library theory standards best practices General principles objectives information technology systems programs Ability to work as part of team effectively persons communities diverse cultural social ethnic backgrounds Experience working all levels within organization required Experience modifying adapting existing programs services policies processes meet changing needs expectations preferred Working community leaders public officials stakeholders required Managing budgets resources people required Public library public-sector union environment preferred Proficiency MS Office similar software Relevant business management systems general ledger HRIS CRM etc., preferred
