    ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
    Non-rotating 40 hour work week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm. May be required to work after hours and weekends.

    Responsibilities


    The General Foreman of the Utility Department-Maintenance of Lines Division is the Field Expert responsible for directly guiding the daily work of Utility Technicians who are assigned to a specific work shift or rotation.

    Serves as trainer and mentor for new and experienced Utility Technicians and oversees the work of Utility Technicians to ensure that precision repairs are executed as outlined in the Project Execution Plans.

    Serves as the Field Safety Officer and is directly responsible for the execution of every job in accordance with City, Sate, and Federal Safety Standards and Rules.

    Leads a team of Utility Technicians to perform equipment repairs and ensures that root cause of problem is captured in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); to perform preventative maintenance according to CMMS generated work orders; to perform replacement/installation for upgrades and ensures that CMMS is updated accordingly; responsible for communicating status of repairs, PMs, and/or upgrade to end user.

    Ensures material compatibility and requisitions materials from warehouse. Procures materials with p-card when necessary and ensures material is staged before beginning work.

    Ensures that description of daily work performed is correctly entered in the CMMS and that every Utility Technician captures their time, tools, vehicles, and materials in the corresponding work order.

    Coordinates the transportation and use of heavy equipment to include operating equipment. Executes Emergency Response Plan and performs Safety Assessment on jobs and/or repairs before start. Performs accident investigation and completes incident reports. Defines the user requirements for the procurement and/or rental of industrial equipment to execute projects and/or repairs. Defines the user requirements for the acquisition materials to execute projects and/or repairs. Ensures that all Utility Technicians under his responsibility practice customer service with internal and external customers. Assist Supervisors with employee Progressive Discipline, employee evaluations and time edit reviews.

    Develop take off material list for every project and interprets blueprints, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), line diagrams, and other drawings to lead group of Utility Technicians in the execution of construction projects.

    Executes precision repairs in accordance with Project Execution Plan. May be asked perform to other duties as assigned by Superintendent.

    Qualifications

    Requires an Associate's degree with five (5) year's experience. A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered. Previous experience in Water, Waste Water, and /or Storm Water repair preferred. Utility construction and/or inspection strongly preferred.

    Candidate must have a TCEQ "C" Water or Waste Water License or ability to obtain one 6 months after TCEQ minimal experience time is met.

    A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire.

    Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
