    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Staff Engineer, Test Development designs, develops, and implements automatic test equipment and test programs for product testing and design verification to ensure robust and high-quality products in manufacturing.

    A Test Development Engineer may specialize in areas such as Structural (verifying assembly processes by testing smaller elements) and Functional (ensuring designs perform intended functions).

    Detailed Description:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead technical solutions for complex projects across multiple domains.
    • Provide guidance to a team of engineers and act as a technical expert in specific areas.
    • Manage non-technical aspects of projects, including finances and team coordination.
    • Interpret customer requirements and serve as the primary contact.
    • Analyze system tradeoffs and suggest solutions.
    • Develop deployment strategies and coordinate program implementations.
    • Manage relationships with vendors/partners.
    • Establish best practices for test development.
    • Stay updated on industry trends.
    • Develop test strategies based on product specifications.
    • Design and integrate test solutions.
    • Debug tester issues and validate requirements.
    • Optimize test solutions for manufacturing efficiency.
    • Collaborate with product design teams to enhance testability.

    • Project Management - Ability to lead complex engineering projects, manage resources, and deliver within set timelines and budgets.
    • Leadership - Demonstrate effective people management skills.
    • Financial Acumen / Business Planning - Develop financial plans and align them with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Additional competencies include Coaching, Communication, Problem Solving, and Customer Management.

    Technical Competencies:

    Technical Skills required for Test Engineering Manufacturing career stream.

    Standard Job : Technical Skills

    • FUNCTIONAL /SYSTEMS /STRESS TEST OPERATIONS : Various technical skills related to functional/system testing.
    • STRUCTURAL TEST OPERATIONS : Skills related to structural testing operations.

    Physical Demands:

    This position involves normal office duties, including extended periods of sitting, visual concentration, and occasional travel.

    Experience:

    7 to 10 years.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree.
