    Description

    Job Title: Staff Accountant

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Ascendo Resources. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Client Billing: Manage client billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
    • Purchase Order Management: Oversee the management of purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Certificate of Insurance Compliance: Verify that all necessary certificates of insurance are in place and renewals are received on time.
    • Data Entry Accuracy: Review and ensure accurate data entry for PCOs and RFAs.
    • Invoice Management: Request invoices from subcontractors and ensure correct entry in the system.
    • Retainage Calculation: Correctly calculate retainage per contract and schedule retainage release in a timely manner.
    • Pencil Requisitions: Manage, update, and issue monthly pencil requisitions.
    • Monthly Requisition Preparation: Prepare accurate monthly requisitions and return to PM in a timely fashion.
    • Subcontractor Payments: Pay subcontractors in a timely manner after receiving payment from clients.
    • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance requirements for subcontractors.
    • Progress Payment Scheduling: Pay subcontractors on a progress payment schedule.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Field: Possess a degree in accounting or a related field.
    • Financial Statement Analysis: Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals.
    • Microsoft Office Suite: Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented, organized, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
    • SAGE 300 Experience: Required experience with SAGE 300.
    • Construction Management Accounting Experience: Construction management accounting experience is a plus.
