Job DescriptionHOME HELPER, HOME ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Job Summary
Assists in meeting client needs including but not limited to hygiene, cooking, shopping, light housekeeping and other activities of daily living as directed by the manager or coordinator.
Reports to Practice Manager
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong customer service philosophy
• Good interpersonal skills with clients particularly as it relates to the elderly
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• A valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance
• Personal computer experience and keyboarding skills
• Medical terminology course or demonstrated knowledge
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this position may be:
a. Exposed to blood, body fluids and/or airborne pathogens and are required to wear personal protective equipment
b. Employees in this position must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary to complete nursing care tasks
c. Subject to STHR (short term hour reduction) according to policy

OPERATIONS
a. Work habits are consistently adjusted to accommodate multiple responsibilities and are prioritized and completed in an independent and timely manner. Effectively utilizes time management and organizational skills.
b. Maintain fall prevention strategies
c. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment
d. Under the direction of supervisor:
• Provides comfort measures
• Follows infection control guidelines and safety precautions
• Assist patients with fluids and nutrition, elimination, bathing, hygiene and activity/mobility
• Assists with lifting, turning, positioning and transferring patients using body mechanics and assuring patient comfort and safety
• Completes the following: cooking, shopping light housekeeping and other activities of daily living
e. Reports to appropriate person
f. Completes and processes daily time log within 24-48 hours of each visit
g. Accurately documents care provided in a timely manner
h. Demonstrate reasonable and rational judgment in decision making
i. Other duties as assigned by management team
Flexible schedule with potential for nights and weekends.
