    Description

    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

    DUTIES:

    Services provided by the APN should include, but not limited to:

    1. Expansion of Whole Health clinical care Pain Management offered to patients at East Orange, Lyons and the CBOCs.
    2. Provides an Integrative Pain Management approach to patients by:
      • Providing comprehensive evaluations of veteran's needs.
      • Developing treatment plans to address identified needs.
      • Providing pharmacologic therapies as indicated.
      • Guiding patients in the creation of healthy lifestyle programs.
    3. Leading shared medical visits as required
    4. Maintains clinical records as outlined in facility policies and procedures
    5. Maintains outcomes data as required by the Director
    6. Participates in hospital committees and meetings as requested.
    7. Participation in Pain Management, Whole Health and other committees as appropriate
    8. Develop templates required for CPRS documentation as needed
    9. Participation in VA sponsored Pain Management, Whole Health and other conference calls and workshops as appropriate
    10. Training and mentorship to providers on the role of integrative health in the care of pain management patients by:
      • Developing, scheduling, and providing training and in-services for staff.
      • Mentoring direct care staff on the benefits and practical application of selected integrative modalities.
    11. Serve as liaison with medical staff on the role of integrative medicine for staff.
      • Provide in-services to medical staff groups as required.
      • Produce and distribute regular updates on integrative health initiatives being implemented in the hospital to medical staff.
    12. Additional duties as requested by the Director.
