    Full Job Description:

    EVIDENCE SPECIALIST Sought. Well-established catastrophic injury litigation boutique firm seeking an Evidence Specialist with 1-3 years industry experience to work in a fast-paced team environment. Seeking long-term commitment prospects only, with ability for upward growth. Will work on a total docket of approximately 20-25 complex cases. Compensation: $22-$24/hr, based upon qualifications and experience. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, + PTO, provided after 90 days. Eligible for 401(k) with company matching after one year of employment. Eligible for annual bonus after first year. Garage parking provided. Please note this is not a remote position. Candidate will be required to work in our Montrose area office Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.

    General Duties:

    • Create spreadsheets in MS Excel as required and prepare documents for transmittal according to specific firm procedures;
    • Maintain information in case Evidence Management System;
    • Create and maintain document Bates numbers including client and defendants' numbers;
    • Generate reports that could include: documents received, documents produced, documents missing, and others as required and address identified problems;
    • Follow firm procedure in transmitting and receiving documents;
    • Generate and maintain Evidence Management System for firm use;
    • Analyze and control all documentation/production related to discovery process (including confidentiality);
    • Handle and register all outgoing and incoming transmittals according to firm procedures;
    • Participate in meetings, as required;
    • Review document quality and correct accordingly;
    • Manage all documentation/production;
    • Collect information for attorneys/paralegals/legal assistants;
    • Apply thorough level of understanding of the organization and procedures related to the work of the firm;
    • Receive general instructions for routine projects and detailed instructions for more complex projects;
    • Most assignments are completed using standard processes and procedures;
    • Frequent internal contact within and outside of firm to furnish and obtain information;
    • Answer inquiries and respond to correspondence from inside and outside the company;
    • Work with others to resolve problems;
    • Serve as a resource to all employees;
    • Complete transmissions of assigned production in accordance with standard processes and procedures;
    • Will handle confidential or sensitive information or issues;
    • Maintains efficient paper and electronic filing systems and ensures quick retrieval of requested documents;
    • Keeps well-informed of latest trends and technology related to eDiscovery functions;
    • Ensures accurate and timely communication to involved parties; and
    • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

    • Aptitude to use logic and reasoning to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions
    • Comfortable utilizing Mac/Apple products, as we are a Mac based company

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma required.
    • 1-3 years' experience in legal field, document control, or as an administrative assistant.
    • Ability to work overtime/weekends/holidays as requested.
    • Valid Texas Drivers' License and Good Driving Record.
    • Reliably commute into Houston (Montrose area) or planning to relocate before starting work.
