    Position Summary:


    The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients needing to be contacted in order to effectively schedule molecular imaging (nuclear medicine and PET CT) specialty referral appointments or to make appointment modifications as a result of operational changes.

    Coordinator and/or follow up on procedure authorizations. Collaborate administratively with modality leadership, technicians, and referring providers regarding orders/ appointment requests.

    Provides outbound call center services across all clinical areas within the Medical Center, applying expert understanding of each modality and clinic's unique scheduling requirements.

    Takes inbound calls from patients calling to obtain medical services as necessary.

    Serves as a preceptor for new staff.

    Required Qualifications:
    Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
    Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner
    Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.)
    Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics
    Experience and technical knowledge with molecular imaging scheduling and therapies (tracers, procedures, etc. for nuclear medicine and/or PET)
    Experience with MS Excel
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
    Minimum 6 months experience working at UCI Medical Center's Call Center
    Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
    Prior EPIC experience
    Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
