If so, we have the job for you Shaw University is looking for a Full Time Human Resources Representative. Reporting to HR Director, the Human Resources Representative handles the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Representative is directly involved in the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Processes benefits and leaves of absences, to include; Participates in benefits administration, including claims resolution, worker's compensation, FMLA, and short-term/long-term disability, distribution of annual employee notices as required and assisting with benefits reporting requirements;
    • Assisting with performance management and improvement systems;
    • Assisting in resolving employee relations issues;
    • Ensuring employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;
    • Assisting with employee onboarding, development, and training processes;
    • Facilitates New Employee Orientation;
    • Documenting HR processes;
    • File documentation and maintenance;
    • Handling company employee communications related to HR concerns
    • Handling paperwork and questions related to compensation and benefits administration;
    • Assisting with employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; and
    • Maintaining HRIS system
    • Other duties as assigned by the HR Director
    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • A minimum of three to five years of recent and related experience OR combination of education and relevant experience
    • Knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
    • Knowledge and experience with digital technology, social media, HRIS software
    • Detail oriented with strong written, verbal communication, and public speaking skills
    • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web searches
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
    Certificates, Licenses or Registrations

    Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record as defined by Shaw; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
