    We're looking for someone to join our team as an Assistant Program Director - Nutrition who:

    The Assistant Program Director is a member of the Nutrition Services administration team. The Assistant Program Director assists the Program Director in planning, organizing, developing and conducting nutrition services in the context of the WIC program to reduce the risks associated with nutritional deficiencies. The Assistant Program Director works under the leadership of the Program Director.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provides quality customer service to participants and team members with an attitude of helpfulness, dignity and respect.
    2. Provides administrative guidance to WIC staff in absence of Program Director.
    3. Assesses the abilities of administration support staff member on an on-going basis and complete her/his performance evaluation at regular intervals.
    4. Coordinates the development of policies, procedures and standards related to patient care.
    5. Provides staff training as needed to foster ongoing growth and development and answer any questions related to WIC and CSV policies and procedures.
    6. Participates in staff meetings and program planning.
    7. Manages grants and other programs (i.e. Sweet Success) as assigned.
    8. Actively participates in the hiring process.
    9. Assists agency staff in identifying, organizing and preparing documents related to cases of fraud for review and follow up by the State WIC Branch's Program Integrity Unit.
    10. Prepares and submits required records and reports as needed, including CQI and other WIC Wise based reports.
    11. Assists WIC Director with State WIC communications.
    12. Conducts regular workgroup meetings.
    13. Studies methods of improving work measurements or performance standards.
    14. Regularly participates on committees (i.e. CSV, WIC, State or Community).
    15. Works at multiple sites as needed.
    16. Provides education and support of breastfeeding and promote a breastfeeding friendly environment.
    17. Maintains current knowledge base for standards and practices in the nutrition profession.
    18. Complies with established Clinica Sierra Vista and WIC policies.
    19. Maintains confidentiality and security at all times.
    20. Is committed to the mission of Clinica Sierra Vista and the WIC Program.

    You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

    1. Registered Dietitian required
    2. Master's degree in nutrition or dietetics required, in process is acceptable.
    3. Minimum three years management experience required.
    4. Work experience with WIC preferred.
    5. Experience with grant management, desirable.
    6. Willingness to learn WIC Wise and WRAD reporting software
    7. Knowledge of Windows and word processing applications.
    8. Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance.
    9. Precise and conscientious about details.
    10. Excellent communication skills.
    11. Ability to handle multiple tasks well.
    12. Ability to work well independently and with others.
    13. Ability to follow directions, learn new skills and meet deadlines.
    14. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) desirable.
    15. Experience or desire to work with low-income families.
    16. Two years work experience as a dietitian or in public health desirable.
    17. Certification as Lactation Educator desirable.
