- Donor content (all segments) Oversee regular creation of donor-centric content that feeds MedicalTeams' donor communications channels including: digital, direct mail and marketing collateral.
- Digital, including web and email In coordination with the Marketing Team, create compelling digital assets that engage donors and grow revenue.
- Award nominations Oversee nomination of Medical Teams for community and industry awards, as well as award nominations for others connected to the organization (e.g., donors, volunteers, corporate partners).
- Disaster response Lead brand and communications functions of the integrated disaster response plan.
- Events content Create, review, and approve content support for Medical Teams events, including speeches, videos, written collateral, communications and branded materials.
- Marketing collateral Provide branded marketing collateral for use across the organization in support of Medical Teams' objectives.
- PR Create and execute Medical Teams' public relations and media outreach functions in coordination with external PR agencies contracted by Medical Teams.
- Brand management Manage Medical Teams' brand to shape reputation and image; produce content and execute initiatives that build Medical Teams' brand; and enforce brand standards across the organization.
- Branding within Medical Teams' facilities Work with the facilities team to build Medical Teams' brand equity within facilities in the US and around the world, including mobile assets such as mobile dental vans.
- Video planning and production Manage a system of video content production and usage across all donor and prospect touch points, in coordination with Medical Teams' country offices and specialized vendors.
- Community affairs Ensure Medical Teams is represented in community activities and is participating in key community forums in core markets (e.g., Portland, Seattle).
- Story creation at scale Execute a system of story capture, content creation and usage of story assets that connects emotionally with supporters.
- Annual report Oversee production and distribution of compelling annual reports.
- Collaborate with field program staff to ensure reporting, program information, and data is accurate and up to date.
- Proactively facilitate the growth of Medical Teams' programs by supporting the development of institutionally funded program proposals and concept notes, as well as supporting financial and program reporting to donors.
- Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.
- Ensure accountability is integrated into all aspects of work, including: project design and implementation; staff recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management; partnership agreements; and reporting.
- Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
- Manage vendors to supplement team resources and fill gaps in critical areas.
- Manage brand and communications budget through careful planning, budget allocation and spend management.

- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience additional education substituting on a year for year basis for the required experienced.
- Master's degree in business (MBA) or communications
- Minimum 8 years previous marketing experience with progressively increasing responsibility

The Director, Brand and Communications contributes to the calling of Medical Teams International by leading all brand, storytelling, and communications functions. Under the strategic leadership of the Vice President, this role is responsible for building and establishing brand awareness, developing and integrating a compelling story pipeline for multiple purposes across the organization, and creating content that catalyzes donors. The Director is a member of the Marketing & Development Leadership Team and is a pivotal leader in raising resources to fuel our mission.
