- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity.
- Manage and optimize financial processes and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate comprehensive annual audits.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
- Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the financial and operational effectiveness of the organization.
- Analyze financial data, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants to manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong foundation in GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842, with the ability to apply these standards in practice.
- Good understanding of cost accounting principles and the ability to analyze standard costs.
- Proficient in the use of financial software and technology, with the ability to adapt to new systems. NetSuite knowledge preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading and developing a team.
