    Job Description

    Scope of Position
    Performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for MRI imaging studies on patients from adolescent to geriatrics.

    Operates MRI scanner and computer to produce images of specific areas to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

    Studies physician prescribed requisitions to determine body area to be scanned and the sequence to be used. Gives patient instruction on procedure method. Injects IV contrast for organ enhancement, under the direction of Radiologist. The care provided to each patient is specific to the patient's particular physical, age specific and psychosocial needs. The patient populations served by this position includes adolescent, adult and geriatric.

    Job duties of this position may require access to protected patient information (PHI).

    The team member will be accountable for appropriate use of the record and compliance with all confidentiality and security policy and procedures related to use, access, and disclosure of PHI.

    Education and Experience:


    Associate of Science degree in Radiology Technology and/or a graduate of Radiologic Technology Program recognized by The American College of Radiology.

    Must be registered by ARRT. Advanced certification in MRI preferred. MRI technologist will be taught on the job, if promoted from within. Must be BLS certified.

    If not registered in MRI, technicians hired after 1/1/2017 must schedule the MRI registry to be taken within 12 months of hire.
