    Morgan Stanley Private Credit ("MSPC") is the corporate credit-investing business within the Private Credit & Equity segment of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. MSPC manages investments on behalf of third-party institutional and high net worth investors across a number of funds. MSPC has pockets of capital focused on investing in privately negotiated senior secured debt, junior debt and mezzanine debt investments to middle market corporate issuers as well as select secondary market credit investment opportunities. MSPC is looking for an associate to support the portfolio management and investment efforts of the credit investing platform.

    Position Description:

    As a member of the Private Credit Portfolio Management team, the position will play an integral role supporting the team on various funds across the platform. The team is the central point of oversight and contact with a focus on analytical activities and risk management. The team liaises with the organization's investment teams, as well as the finance team, investor relations, internal legal, tax, risk, compliance and control functions. The role will also support strategic business initiatives and fundraising efforts.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Portfolio Management:

  • Prepare/coordinate quarterly portfolio review process
  • Review/analyze quarterly portfolio review materials
  • Review/analyze portfolio level and portfolio company level statistics and trends
  • Prepare/coordinate materials for quarterly and ad-hoc fund-level portfolio updates
  • Review/analyze underperforming portfolio company statistics and trends, including risk rating assessment and watch list preparation and maintenance
  • Participate in regular meetings regarding underperforming portfolio accounts and prepare related materials
  • Facilitate and coordinate materials for ad-hoc internal/external requests and projects
  • Review/analyze and track amendment activity across the portfolio
  • Valuation:

  • Coordinate with finance team on internal valuation process
  • Investor due diligence and reporting:

  • Coordinate with internal teams on ad hoc investor information requests as part of fundraising efforts and investor updates
  • Qualifications
  • BA/BS required
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, credit/investing background a plus
  • 3+ years of finance experience
  • Experience in a credit and/or portfolio management type position is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of cash flow modeling, credit analysis and credit documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work within a team and under tight deadlines

    Wage Transparency Statement

    Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
